Momentum Care prides itself on putting people at the centre of everything that we do. It’s important that our staff share our values and that’s why we recruit people who will go the extra mile for the people we support.
All our staff undergo enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks and are fully trained. Their training is regularly updated, and the support workers we select will be matched carefully to the needs of the person being supported.
Through our recruitment process we ensure that we comply with the regulator’s guidance on safe recruitment. All staff undergo an interview process and we also require a minimum of two satisfactory references. Where possible, we involve the people we support in the recruitment process. All potential support workers are personally interviewed by Momentum Care.
Momentum Care carries out security checks on all of our staff through the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme which is managed by Disclosure Scotland.
All new staff undergo a full induction programme and are then provided with a development and training plan that is tailored to the services that they will be working with and to the people that they will be supporting.
Ongoing training and development
Our staff members participate in regular team and supervision meetings which enable communication, transfer of good practice, continual professional development and service enhancement.
Once they have started working with us, our staff are supported to develop their professional skills through training courses and distance learning.
The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is the professional body for staff working in social care in Scotland. The Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) is the professional body for staff working in England.
