Paying For Support

Paying For Support

Everyone’s needs are different and because support packages are tailored to meet each person's needs, we calculate costs on an individual basis.

There are various options to fund support. Here is a guide to the different ways support can be funded:

  • Privately-funded support

This is where the client is not eligible for government funding. You may want to check out further if you are entitled to any government funding. Organisations that can support you with this include the Social Work Department and/or the Citizens Advice Bureau.

Momentum Care supports an increasing number of people who fund their own support as our rates are viewed as competitive and our support provision is of high quality. Please contact our local office nearest to where you live to discuss your needs and we can then calculate our rates and provide information about what we can offer to enable your decision-making.

  • Local Authority-funded support

This is where you have local authority funding, i.e. the Local Authority pays for your support directly. Your support manager/social worker will give you information regarding which organisations are able to provide your support (those who are on the Local Authority framework or approved provider list - this means that these organisations have passed the Local Authority quality checks) so that you can choose the one you prefer.

Momentum Care supports individuals with a wide range of support needs across the UK who are Local Authority-funded. If you want us to provide your support, please advise your care manager.

  • Direct payments

You may be eligible for funding through Direct Payments such as Independent Living Fund (ILF). People can apply for a Direct Payment and/or be assessed by care managers. For more information about Direct Payments and to find out if you are eligible to receive a Direct Payment, contact your local authority social services department and/or your local Citizens Advice Bureau.

Momentum Care’s rates are competitive and our support is of high quality. Please contact our local service nearest to where you live  to discuss your needs and we can then calculate our rates and provide information about what we can offer to enable your decision-making.

  • Personal budgets

Increasingly in both England and Scotland those who are in receipt of social care or who have been recently assessed and are deemed to require social care may be offered an Individual Budget (England) or Self Directed Support (Scotland).

If you choose, you can buy in your support directly giving you increased control over what type of support you want, when you want it and who provides it. You may not want to manage your funds directly so these can be managed by social services or by a relative or guardian. To find out more about personalised budgets you can contact your care manager, Citizens Advice Bureau, or In Control.

Momentum Care supports an increasing number of individuals in receipt of a personal budget. As we are a person-centred organisation we put those we support at the heart of all we do. We can support you in the development of your personalised support plan and activities and calculate and share with you the cost of your support. Where it is your choice we will involve you in recruitment of staff who will support you. We will seek to involve you in all aspects of your care and support where this is your choice.

Please contact the office which is nearest to where you live to discuss your needs and we can then calculate our rates and provide information about what we can offer to enable your decision-making.

Momentum Care is widely regarded for its top class care and support at excellent rates.
